The Story

I made The Nibblewick Lodge because I’ve never believed gnomes were meant to be cute. Everyone thinks gnomes are harmless.

That’s the first mistake.

This lodge didn’t appear because someone built it. It showed up because the gnomes decided the garden was worth claiming. They prefer quiet places—flower pots, dense greenery, corners where hands reach without looking.  This piece came from wanting something playful that also had teeth. Something that made people laugh first—and then hesitate just a little before touching it.

Gnomes are clever. Sneaky. Professional mischief-makers. They move things just enough to make you question yourself. A tool shifts. A leaf snaps behind you. Something taps your knuckle and vanishes. If you ever feel like the garden is watching you back—it is.  The lodge is their headquarters.

From the balconies, they plan. From the lower rooms, they stash stolen trinkets: shiny screws, lost rings, the occasional button. They laugh quietly, but not kindly. And if you’re foolish enough to reach inside or try to “check” whether they’re real—They bite.

Not hard enough to break skin. Just enough to teach respect. A sharp nip. A warning. Gnomes do not like being handled, photographed too closely, or accused of imaginary status. Catching one mid-prank is the fastest way to lose a fingertip’s dignity.

At night, the windows glow. Footsteps scuttle. Tiny arguments break out over who gets porch watch and who has to guard the seed stash. By morning, everything looks innocent again—except maybe the moved pot, the missing pebble, or the faint sense that you’ve been laughed at.

If nothing ever goes missing, it’s probably fine.

Probably.

Place the Gnome Lodge in your garden if you enjoy chaos in small doses.
If you like things exactly where you left them… don’t.

And whatever you do—Don’t stick your fingers inside.
